The Benefits Of Dance
Dancing is a great way to burn calories, burn stress and enhance your overall well-being. Heading to dance class with friends is your chance to turn off your phone, close your email and leave all the stress of the day at the door as you find a new way to socialize. Not only will you start to feel better, but you will have an improved sense of confidence as you discover a new way to move your body.
The History Of The Tango
The tango style of dance dates back to late 1700s in Argentina. This dance, set to 2/4 or 4/4 time, was a favorite in underground dance centers for people looking to express themselves when words were not enough. When the dance first became popular, authorities tried to ban tango dancing and music.
Today there are more than 15 variations on the traditional tango. One of the biggest differences in the variations is where the body is in space. Some versions have the core of the body move first and then the feet try to catch up. Others reverse this with the feet moving first and then the core, neck and head chasing after the movement.
